Song Writing

I can't for the life of me write a song. A song with actual words anyways.

I will always have this random lyric or just idea but when I try to write it down or add onto it, it turns into a heap of fail sauce.

I listen to endless songs about love or heartbreak or happiness or sadness and maybe it's because I have next to no experience in anything to take those life moments and change them into a melody that sounds decent enough for someone to want to listen to.

I do love instrumental music though. I like to make up a guitar riff and add it to some ukulele chords or the other way around. I can sit cross-legged forever on my floor and just belt out how I'm feeling through the music.

I don't have the best of anything but I like that you don't need the most fancy or expensive instrument to produce the same music.

I'll keep you posted on the song writing, I won't give up.

We'll Be A Deam

So, I decided I'm going to do a cover every Thursday of a random song.

It's not because I think I'm an amazing singer or guitarist, I just love to do both, so why the heck not! It will just make me commit to something.
Plus, Thursdays are the best days ever! New The Office, Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock tonight! Just throwing that out there...

Australia

I have been talking in an Australian accent for the past 20 minutes. I feel like I have come to master it.

Which brings me to my plan:
  1. Acquire a large sum of money.
  2. Spend a portion of it on a really nice new longboard.
  3. Longboard to Australia.
  4. Find a nice Australian boy.
  5. Live.

I don't know about you, but I find my plan pretty much fool proof. There are seriously no flaws.
When I'm stressed I dream about just leaving.
Sigh...

March Break

What I have done this break:

  • Played The Sims 3
  • Watched The Office
  • Watched Friends
  • Watched Family Guy
  • ...
  • Hungout with friends...
It's just a little too convenient how there always seems to be either an episode of The Office, Friends or Family guy on satellite. It really isn't my fault that in the off chance something's not on television  I go and play The Sims. I made big accomplishments.
I started of with one guy, his name was James. His life goal was to become the world's best ghost hunter. That's exactly what he did. On the way he even got married and had a kid. The kid's name was Charlie (not that hover dog). Charlie grew up in a wonderful family environment. When he reached adulthood, his life goal was to be the world's best surgeon. Countless hours of medical journals and logic points he was almost there. One problem. He had no wife.
He was super rich and even had three celebrity stars, he was going places. I found the perfect woman and they got married and had a kid, whom I named Max. Max became a toddler and I became bored with this family.
I created a new girl who is going to be an awesome sculpture maker, she is on her way already.

Yes, it was a good March Break.

Hover-dog-can-hover?

Some talent you've got there.

This is not my dog, but let's pretend for a moment that I know everything there is to know about my little canine friend. His name is Charlie, and I know what you're thinking, "He's not bi-polar, he's bi-winning!" And, while that might be the case, let's focus on something else.

See, Charlie here isn't like other dogs. In fact, he gets picked on a lot by the other neighborhood pooches. I keep telling him, "It's not you Charlie, it's just that they're too jealous to want to get to know you. Never forget you're one special dog."

Charlie was born with a condition called hover-dog-can-hover. It's a very rare condition, this is the only case doctors have come across in North America. Charlie's legs are not able to come out from under his body, so he has adapted by simply being able to hover where ever he needs or wants to go.

As far as our studies have shown, he doesn't get tired like normal dogs do from walking or running. Charlie can hover after squirrels for hours without needing a break, it's a different story for the squirrels though.

Charlie's future hopes are to find a wife and have many hover puppies. So far he has had no luck with the ladies, but Charlie isn't one to give up.

I just keep telling him, "You've got to hover after your dreams Charlie, hover as fast as you can!"

Waiting

One of my biggest pet peeves is when a show you look forward to watching every week isn't on or isn't new. I have a very specific weekly calendar that I follow religiously when it comes to my shows...

Monday: Chuck
Tuesday: Glee
Wednesday: Shedding for the Wedding
Thursday: The Vampire Diaries, The Office, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock
Friday: CSI:NY
Saturday: Saturday Night Live
Sunday: The Simpsons, Family Guy

All day I look forward to the complicated plot twists, building relationships and unexpected incidents that I adore so much. It really makes me upset when I go to watch my show and I find out it's an old episode. I understand that happens sometimes but into further investigation they won't be new again for weeks, it really puts a damper on that day for weeks to come.

Waiting is a horrible part of life. The only comfort is that no matter what, time still moves forward, it cannot move any slower, or any faster for that matter.

I fold paper

A snip-it of my wall

Everyday I gently rip off a page of my day by day 30 Rock calendar.
Everyday I take the time to craft a paper crane.
I find it fulfilling and beautiful.

They say if you fold a thousand you will receive a wish. So, let's see, I currently have 62 hanging on my walls, plus 5 randomly on my desk... 67. Then there's the random ones I've folded and given to other people/left them around places...

I hope some spiritual dude comes up to me when I've reached a thousand and is all, "What do you wish for bro!?"
I would promptly respond, "A million more wishes!" Then wink into the camera.
